Our St. Joe team partnered with an awesome organization called Rescued Readers. This non-profit creates partnerships between American and African students, seeking to put books into the hands of African kids that can’t get them anywhere else. They do great work, and you can read more about it here on their website. St. Joe made a BPM Inc. donation of $250 to their cause. Way to go team!
The Christmas season is one to enjoy with family, but also one to remember those in our community that are lonely, in-need, and hurting. St. Joe did a great job gathering gifts for the local YWCA shelter to benefit abused women and children.
The St. Joe team presented a check to an awesome local program that helps provide school lunches for children from low-income families. Awesome work guys! The Brookdale Summer Lunch Program provides a nourishing sack lunch for St. Joseph school age children from single parent low income families. The lunches are prepared at Brookdale Presbyterian Church by volunteers and delivered to different pick up locations, including: Mark Twain School, Bartlett Center, and Pastor Earnestine Blakely’s Reading Program.
Charity Fest in Grand Island was a fantastic success this year. We raised more than twice as much money this year to help local organizations in our community that make a difference. The items you see in the pictures were part of a yard sale, the proceeds of which were donated. We also ended up with a semi truck load of unsold items for the Goodwill! Our partnership with the Food Bank of Lincoln last month ended up being a fantastic success. They raised over 20,000 in donations this month, and Mike agreed to match it at that level. Thanks for being on board to help out a great organization in our community.
We’re pretty excited to be partnered with the Food Bank of Lincoln to help them reach their amazing milestone of 50 million meals served. From now until the end of April, Anderson will match each donation given to the Food Bank. That means each dollar goes twice as far!
