Fahri Update & How to Help

UPDATE: As some of you know, Fahri passed away on July 22, 2013. Go here to for info about how you can help his family.

Fahri and family can use your help!  As some of you know, Fahri Govori, a Sales Advisor in Lincoln, was recently diagnosed with cancer.  After some further testing, he received the good news that the cancer has not spread beyond where it was originally detected.  Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.

He started chemo yesterday, and is currently home resting.  During this time, you could help out greatly by signing up to bring meals for the family.  A sign up sheet is in the sales tower at the Lincoln north store.  Fahri’s contact info is below, and please call/text the day of to confirm a time for delivery at their home address.

All meals would be for 4 people: Fahri, his wife, and the two children ages 2.5 and 1.  Some meal ideas:

  • Stauffer’s frozen family size meals
  • Chili
  • Chicken noodle soup
  • Pizza delivery

Thanks for helping out!

Helping Roman Austin

UPDATE 2.10.12

Mike flew down to pick up Roman and his family, and they all arrived back in Lincoln safe and sound.  Also, it looks as if the doctors were successful in their efforts to help Roman overcome the complications he experienced after the initial surgery.  This is great news!  He is now free of his breathing tube and ventilator, which was the main objective of his procedure.

Your contribution as a team member makes these stories possible.  Thanks for all you do!

UPDATE 1.20.11

“Roman has experienced a set back and can use all our prayers.  He had exploritory surgery Wednesday so the doctors could get an idea of how well the bone graft was holding.  It wasn’t clear as to if he wasn’t breathing well on his own because he wasn’t used to his new way of breathing or if there was an issue.  They discovered a large amount of scar tissue building up as a result of his numerous surgeries.  So, much to his and Janean’s dismay, the breathing tube is back in and he is back on the ventilator.  They are “hitting the area hard” with steroids to try to reduce the swelling and scar tissue, which is causing Roman to be very aggitated, aggressive and “itchy”.  He hasn’t slept well for days which is making it worse.  They are hoping the steroids work so the trach doesn’t have to go back in and have this all be for not.  Keep Roman in your prayers, he’s a tough little guy and could definately use them.”  -Roman’s Mom, Janean

1.4.12

You may remember the story about 4-year old Roman Austin at the Christmas Party.  If not, click here to get filled in.  Roman was in need of surgery, and the procedure he needed had to be performed 1,300 miles away in Ohio.  The trip requires a 3-week stay, and transportation was a big obstacle for his mother Janean.

After coming across his story, we realized there was an opportunity to step in and and eliminate one of the hurdles the family was facing by providing transportation.  This week, we flew Roman and his family to their destination and helped make arrangements for their stay.  You’re ALL a part of supporting these efforts!  Thanks for all you do each day to make these Mission stories a reality.

Holiday Donations

We’ve collected all of the donations from the Christmas party, and we ended up with a ton of items for donation.  This is only some of what was given, and it was split up evenly between all markets.
