A Letter From Mike

Hello AAG team,

Hope you are all enjoying the great springtime weather.

This communication is meant to bring you up to date on progress with survey input, and also a reminder about why we feel a survey such as this helps us to grow as a company.

Gaining knowledge and understanding of where we are as a company is similar to reading the gauges on a vehicle that give indication of system health. Once we have the information then we can take necessary action.

The survey was completed just a few weeks back. Since then we have been busy executing on a 4 step process:

  1. Meet as a Directional Team (Mike, Scott, and Donn) to go over results
  2. Meet with the General Managers of each market to go over companywide results as well as their individual dealership results.
  3. Meet with each Department Manager to go over results and discuss focus areas.
  4. Department Managers meeting with team members to create action plans going forward based on input.

We have progressed through step 3 and have moved into step 4 in each market. Once action plans are created we will have measurables to check our progress. Several changes have been made already and further focus will bring positive impact in the remainder of 2012 and into the next year.

It has been said we do not want the survey to be an event but rather a tool for us to read our current culture. We have much input to celebrate, and also input that is very helpful to give guidance for plans toward AAG Mission impact.

We have a great team of people and your participation is critical in our effort to learn and lead well in the days to come. Thank you for being on the team; know that you are making a difference. We will keep you posted.

Have a great day.
