BPM honored to be able to work with the Pregnancy Center to help pregnant women here in Lincoln!
Because People Matter works with the Pregnancy Center as a donation recipient! The Center is a non-profit, non-government funded center that helps women of all ages with pregnancy. They offer free pregnancy counseling, testing and ultra sounds. They also help woman struggling financially to resources such as Because People Matter for a donation request. The Pregnancy Center services not only the women’s physical needs, but also emotional and spiritual needs. They have several counseling groups and therapists, and are connected to several churches helping women find a strong church community to belong to as well. Because People Matter is excited to once again help them with a vehicle for the center that will in turn help many other women in Lincoln.
Single mom of 4 expresses her deep appreciation to BPM!
Deb is a single mom of 4 who works hard to provide for her family. Deb and her children volunteer with her church Christ’s Place, and are very active within the church for 8 years now. Deb’s oldest just graduated high school and is on her way to college. Her youngest is starting school here in a few weeks. Deb’s van had multiple things needing repair and could not afford to fix them on her own or replace her van. Christ’s Place told her about Because People Matter and how we help people just like her. Deb was able to bring her van in for inspection and today we completed the repairs! Attached is a picture with her technician Monica, Deb, and her freshly repaired van. Monica is the newest member of our service team and had no idea the repair she was doing was for a person in need and being paid for by Because People Matter. Surprise Monica-picture time!
Deb expressed her deep appreciation for Because People Matter, our service team, and Anderson Auto Group.
Thank you!! You all make these moments possible! This is the 21st donation for the Lincoln market this year.
Hillcrest success story, full of confidence and smiles!
Devante is a true success story at Hillcrest. He has successfully graduated to self-sufficiency. Before entering the program he hung his head and had little to no self-esteem. Through the Hillcrest program he gained a positive network of people to support him, friendships and self-confidence! He now holds his head up high and smiles from ear to ear. He is 23 years old and never had a drivers license until going through the Hillcrest program. His church sponsor worked with him diligently to pass and he did!
When Mike Anderson toured the Hillcrest facility, he toured Devente’s apartment and was able to have a conversation with him. Devante explained to him that he was in the process of getting his driver’s license and graduating the Hillcrest program. He explained to Mike that he walks to work everyday regardless of weather conditions. Even though he does not have children, Mike told Devante that he should apply for a car through Anderson once he gets his license. We are not at that moment! He is so excited for this opportunity and he is so deserving. Hillcrest and Devante both truly appreciate the care donation that Because People Matter was able to provide.
Deserving father goes from two wheels to four
Matt is trying diligently to make his situation better. He is a single father of 3 beautiful children. His vehicle recently broke down and was towed to Anderson Ford. The vehicle has 283,000 miles on it and was going to cost far more to get it fixed than what it was worth. Matt is currently getting to work by his bike, the bus and by others giving him rides. This is not easy for him being a single father. Hillcrest felt he was very deserving of a vehicle from Because People Matter, and we agreed.
